There are many options available in the Yard Planner for setting up the yard portion of your model. Many of these options have default values so that you can quickly create a basic model. This topic explains the most basic steps required to complete the Yard Planner.
Step-by-Step Explanation
- Before working with the Yard Planner, begin by creating the objects in the yard.
- Add [yard blocks](YardBlock.html)to the model.

- 聽 Add [gantry cranes](RTG.html) and [top loaders](TopLoader.html) to the model.
Note: If you get the follow message, you dropped the object onto another object in the model. Press Cancel and redrop the object onto a blank area of the model.

- 聽 Open the Yard Planner from the [Container Terminal](Container_Terminal_Menu.html) menu.

- Go to [Block Assignments](Block_Assignments.html) tab.
- Add new assignment rules by clicking the Add Rule button.
- Assign the style of container (type, size, etc.) to the desired yard block. (You can add more container types through the [Container Types window](Container_Types.html).)

- Go to [Resource Assignments](Resource_Assignments.html) tab.
- Add new assignment rules by clicking the Add Rule button.
- Assign the style of work (block, operation, etc.) to the desired yard resource (RTG or top loader).
