The [Gate Planner object](GatePlanner.html) creates a gate-side interface in your model. It is added to your model by dragging the Gate Planner object from the [ContainerTerminal library](Introduction.html)into the model. Once the Gate Planner object has been added to the model, it can be accessed again either by double-clicking on the object in the model view or through the Container Terminal menu on the main toolbar.
The [Gate Planner object](GatePlanner.html) acts as a source object, generating trucks that enter the model. How many trucks and how often they arrive is determined by the Gate Planner's parameters. The Gate Planner object can be connected聽to other objects (such as [roads](Road.html), [truck queues](TruckQueue.html), [gate processes](GateProcess.html) and [yard interfaces](GateToYard.html)), which聽defines the flow for the trucks. This is very similar to connecting a regular [source](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html) object. The Gate Planner must eventually be connected to a [gate sink](GateSink.html) through which trucks leave the model. This is very similar to connecting a regular [sink](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html) object.
The Gate Planner GUI is composed of several tabs that set up how trucks arrive at the Gate.
