Overview
The Gate Road is a path for traveling within the model. It is identical to a [conveyor](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html) object from the standard "Discrete Objects" FlexSim library, except that it is drawn with a road texture map. Travel time on a conveyor depends on the conveyor鈥檚 length and speed. Roads are used in conjunction with a gate model, while [network nodes](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html) are used in conjunction with a yard model.
Properties
The [conveyor](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html) object is explained in detail in the FlexSim users manual, but the most commonly used parameters are described below.
Layout Tab
The conveyor object has two different views for editing the conveyor section: editor view and table view.聽The editor view provides a simpler interface for creating and appending sections. The table view provides a more sophisticated interface for fine tuning sections.

The Conveyor Section Edit Table, available after selecting the Table View radio button, provides a way to change the look of the conveyor or road. By default the road is a straight road, but you can have it twist, rise, dip, or be short or long. A road is made up of sections, where each section generally indicates a change in the direction of the road. To add a straight section of road, click the Add Straight button, then adjust the length and rise. To add a curved section of road, click the Add Curved button, then adjust the angle and radius (length on a curved section is determined by the radius). Length units are determined by the [Model Units window](Model_Units.html). By using these simple parameters over multiple sections of road, any road layout can be created.

The Conveyor Section Editor, available after selecting the Editor View radio button, provides an alternative way to change the look of the conveyor or road. To add a section, click the Add button. 聽Rename the section by entering a new name in the Section Name. Select the type of section from the type dropdown menu. The type can be either straight or curved. If the section is straight, you will be able to adjust the length and the rise. If the section is curved, you will be able to adjust the angle, radius and rise.聽
