The Create Road wizard will automatically generate a path of [network nodes](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html) along the berth. This path acts as a road for [trucks](Truck.html)to follow.聽The generator can save you a lot of time if you need to create a road. Alternatively, you can place network nodes manually to create a path. The Create Road wizard can be launched from the [Create Berth Road button on the Berth Layout tab](Berth_Layout.html#CreateBerthRoad).

Distance From Berth- This value is the distance between the line of the berth and the line of the road. The road is created parallel to the berth. Length units are determined by the [Model Units window](Model_Units.html).
Distance Between Nodes - This value is the distance between [network nodes](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html). Length units are determined by the [Model Units window](Model_Units.html). Essentially, this value determines how many network nodes will be placed along the road. You should have enough nodes to allow trucks to get on and off the road near the cranes without burdening the model with too many nodes.
One Way- This checkbox toggles the road as a one-way or two-way road. If this box is checked, trucks can only travel on the road in a single direction, which is determined by the [truck travel direction specified on the berth layout](Berth_Layout.html#TrucksTravel). If this box is unchecked, trucks can travel on the road in either direction.
Passing- This checkbox toggles the road as a single-lane or multi-lane road. If this box is checked, the road is multi-lane and faster trucks can pass slower trucks on the road. If this box is unchecked, the road is single-lane and trucks will back up on the road behind slower trucks.
Create - Click this button to automatically generate the [network node](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html)path according to the above specifications. If the model already contains a road generated by the Create Road wizard, that road will be deleted and replaced by a new road (it will not affect roads created by hand except where they connect to the old road). Any connection to the other parts of the terminal road system needs to be created manually.
Delete - Click this button to delete an existing [network node](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html) path previously created by the Create Road wizard. If a road has not been generated yet, this button will have no effect.
Close - Click this button to close the wizard. No changes are made unless you click "Create" or "Delete."
After creating the road, you will need to make a few connections so that it will work correctly. Be sure to:
- Connect the road to another road in the yard so trucks can travel between the two road systems (see [network nodes](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html)). This is done with an "A"-connection between [network nodes](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html).
- Connect the road to each crane to provide virtual exit points. This is done with a "D"-connection leading from the crane to a [network node](Flexsim_Users_Manual.html).
- Make sure that there are adequate entry and exit points to the road, especially if you are using a one-way and/or non-passing road.
