There are many options available in the Gate Planner for setting up the gate portion of your model. Many of these options have default values so that you can quickly create a basic model. This topic explains the most basic steps required to complete the Gate Planner.
Step-by-Step Explanation
- Add a [Gate Planner](GatePlanner.html) object to the model.

- Go to the [Arrival Patterns](Arrival_Patterns.html) tab.
- Use the magnifying glass in the bottom left corner to zoom in on Monday.
- Click on the schedule graph in order to change how many trucks arrive at the gate that hour.聽
- You can click and drag your mouse on the graph in order to quickly draw a pattern.聽

- To set the amount of truck arrivals for an hour to zero, click on the graph below the axis (where the days of the week are displayed).

- To repeat a pattern, copy it from one day to another. Choose the template and destination days at the top and click the Copy button.

- Create a full week's pattern. You can scale the entire pattern based on percents or a total value using the other buttons at the top. This pattern will be used for distribution of trucks throughout the week, but the actual number of trucks will be determined by the values in the Arrivals table.

- Go to the [Arrivals](Arrivals.html) tab.
- Click Add Row to create additional rows in the arrival operations table.
- Click in each of the Operation cells in the table and select a set of operations. Change the Min and Max values to the number of containers that operation represents during a single week. If you are using a [Berth Planner](Berth_Planner_Overview.html) in the same model, set these values to 0. See the [FlexTerm Modeling Paradigm](Container_Terminal_Modeling_Overview.html#ChoosingADataDriver) for more information.
